Em 1975, no Reino Unido, não havia
espaço para outra coisa senão a cultura punk.
O epicentro do local da ação punk foi um
clube que tinha características anti-sociais,
era conhecido como o carrinho e Cavalos, localizado em um bairro
movimentado de Londres chamado Leytonstone. Como o
movimento punk, outro movimento estava se formando no
centro da sala e três dos principais envolvidos no projeto
da virgem de ferro -baixista Steve Harris, o
guitarrista Dave Murray estavam entre os mais
ardorosos defensores do metal pesado revivido.enqto. Paul Di'Anno
foi inicialmente um seguidor da música punk e estética.
O Iron a seguir , teve sua primeira
apresentação.
Apresentação essa
marcada pela privação de todos os tipos e
alguns socos, mas com força suficiente para fazer
(impor-se)como um nome e
reputação. Foi assim que, noite após noite, diante de
uma platéia fria e descrente, o
"Iron Maiden" abriu um precedente para seus desempenhos no
carrinho e cavalos e foram se tornando mais regulares.
Durante os anos que se seguiram
as suas primeiras aparições no reduto punk
gradativamente cederam território
e os metais pesados novos, poderiam ser
enriquecidos com uma quota suficiente de credibilidade. Foi assim
que Steve Harris e Dave Murray capacitaran-se de contactar os
proprietários dos bares importantes no
West End de Londres, uma obrigação
para os executivos da gravadora britânica e
onde as chances de conseguir um contrato de gravação
eram muito superiores que em Leytonstone.
A política da gravadora era
claramente direcionada para o
apoio indiscriminado ao punk e new wave.
Também tiveram que enfrenentar a
relutância de alguns proprietários de incluir
bandas de metal em suas programações locais.
Por força da
perseverança e tenacidade, o Iron Maiden tem um contrato assinado em
meados de 1978 em um clube de West End, com
£ 30 por dia, graças ao qual a banda poderia
desfrutar de calma econômica relativa.

acima de tudo, acreditávamos que o Projeto da virgem
sobreviveria tempo suficiente
